L. Joy Williams to speak at MLK Community Breakfast

 

L. Joy Williams, a long-time political strategist and creator and host of the podcast “Sunday Civics,” will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 MLK Community Breakfast at Furman University with a talk addressing “Democracy in Action: Unleashing the Might of Political Participation.”

The breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, with the program beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Younts Conference Center on Furman’s campus. FUGE, the Furman University Gospel Ensemble, will perform. Others scheduled to deliver remarks are Furman University President Elizabeth Davis and Senior Pastor Reggie Garrett ’98 of Jubilee Baptist Church. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $50 per person. Furman students are admitted at no charge, but a reservation is required by 5 p.m., Jan. 13.
