L. Joy Receives Inaugural Hazel Nell Dukes Social Justice Award from the Metro-Manhattan (NY) Chapter of The Links, Inc.
This past holiday season, I had the honor of attending the 14th Biennial Metro Manhattan Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Holiday Gala as an honoree. Held at Cipriani Wall Street, the event was a celebration of Black excellence and the power of community.
The night was made even more special as I was deeply honored to receive the inaugural Hazel Nell Dukes Social Justice Award. Named in honor of the incredible civil rights icon Hazel “Ma” Dukes, a tireless advocate who I have had the pleasure to learn from and serve with.
It was a fantastic addition to our holiday social calendar and I am grateful to The Links for their unwavering dedication to service and for shining a light on the work of so many in our community.
